Came across Special requirement using InfoAssist(IA). Just wondering if any of you guys came across this situation and if so. Please share your soltuion.

1. Can we have pre-process in InfoAssit?
Details: We have a program which concatenates 2 flat files of data. User's wants to generate report using this Concatenated data using InfoAssist(GUI) not Editor.

IN DEV Studio:
1. We could have concatenated these 2 files using MORE statement and hold the result in HOLD File
2. Generated report using this HOLD File.
3. Can we somehow implement this same style using InfoAssist using GUI. (I know we can use Editor in IA. Using Editor is not an option).

Thank in Advance

Create a reporting object and put your concaternation code in the other section.
Add an ON TABLE HOLD AS holdfile.

When the user opens the infoassist he will see this new master and the concaternated data

JG,
Thanks for reply.
Sorry I didn't explain the complete issue.
1. Users want's to select 2 or more flat files to concatenate the data and want to use InfoAssist to for adhoc reporting. ( I know this is ridiculus requirement).

So Reporting Objects won't suffice the user requirement, because we can't create million RO's.

I was looking for Pre-Process technique in IA.

Got reply from IBI regarding this. InfoAssist doesn't support Pre-Processing of files.

Thanks
TryFocus.
