I am relatively new to WF (since 01/06) and I have data in a .foc table (2 fields) which I need to use to control the flow of a .fex procedure via Dialogue Mgr. I've tried to figure out how to read the .foc and put the field into an &field which can be used in the procedure with no success. Any help or any different technique to do this would be helpful As a side note - We dont have Maintain nor is it in the budget.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Todd Behrens,
Since we have no idea what your procedure actually needs, here is a basic way:
TABLE FILE CAR PRINT CAR SEATS MODEL BY COUNTRY ON TABLE HOLD AS DATA1 FORMAT ALPHA END -RUN -SET &XLINES = &LINES; -SET &CNTR = 1; -LOOP_1 -READ DATA1 NOCLOSE &COUNTRY.A20.,&CAR.A10., &SEATS.A5., &MODEL.A20. -IF &IORETURN NE 0 GOTO EOJ;
Thank you very much! It may seem simple and I had the right idea but didnt try the different output types. Changing the format was the key...I was stuck in a rut creating .foc hold tables. Thanks again.....I just signed up for this forum......its going to be a great learning tool.
