AnatessProgrammable Selection Criteria in OLAP
What I'm trying to do is create a recursive selection criteria in OLAP. I have a report with Resource Manager as one of the dimensions. The problem is, the business unit wants the Resource Manager selection to be recursive - that is, if you select my boss for Resource Manager selection criteria, then I would show up in the report. If you select my boss's boss, you get my boss and myself.
I already have a procedure that does the recursive query that I used for another report that does not use OLAP. The report takes Resource Manager as selection criteria and the procedure runs the recursive query to build the WHERE clause.
Is there a way you can attach a procedure to the OLAP selection criteria or something?

dhagenI am not sure what you mean by attach a procedure. I get the idea about the recursive part, but I'm lost after that.
This is a cube, so couldn't you use FML and the 'WITH ALL CHILDREN' command?

AnatessNo, I can't use FML.
This is for an OLAP report. The OLAP tab contains the dimensions that you can then use as filter for the report. Unfortunately, it is limited to the values for the field. When you select the value (or values) and click Run, the report shows only those values that meet the filter criteria.
I want that selection field on the OLAP tab to do recursive filtering.
