Though I can see single byte white spaces at the end of a text field in DB, we do not see them on webFOCUS report. This is happening for both HTML and Excel. WebFOCUS is trimming off this blnak, but we need the blank space as it is.
Any hints on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks, Prashanth

Yes, SHOWBLANKS is for leading and internal white space, not for trailing space. There is no functions that can do that for you. Having said that, you could always try to look for something else that could accomplish this (there are more ways to defur a feline, so to speak). Consider the next example:[code]SET SHOWBLANKS=ON
TABLE FILE CAR PRINT COMPUTE TEST/A35 = ' ' | CAR | ' ' | HEXBYT(13,'A1'); BY COUNTRY BY CAR ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K END{/code]This inserts a non-printable character at the end of the field, and because of the showblanks, it looks like trailing blanks are preserved ... just fooling the browser (and excel) a little bit ...
