I have a column called name it gives the last name space first name. All I want to display is the last name. How do I do this? This message has been edited. Last edited by: <d3nis370>,
Now, parsing strings and using tokens is usually a tricky business when you have data "exceptions". For example:
1. SMITH JOHN would work nicely as the first token gives you SMITH which is the correct last name. 2. However VAN BUREN MARTIN may pose a problem as the first token would give you VAN when one would expect VAN BUREN as the last name. 3. How about DE LA RENTA OSCAR? In this case you'll need the first 3 tokens to make up the last name
Anyway, as you are the one who knows your data layout you'll have to find ways to approach those exceptions as you encounter them.
