[SOLVED] FOC03690 Error Due to HTMLTABLE

Have others experienced an issue in which upgrading from Maintain v5 to v7, you see the following error on Web pages:



After searching the forum, I've discovered that a change as follows fixes the issue:
-* ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTMLTABLE - FIX FOC03690 ERROR
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT HTML

Basically you drop the TABLE from HTMLTABLE. So now I'm wondering if I should change all my FOCEXECS from HTMLTABLE to HTML as a quick solution, rather than fixing (possibly missing changes) the error as I find them in testing the Web pages. It appears either way results in the same display on the Web page.

Any reasons why I should not mass change my FOCEXECs to fix the FOC 03690 error?

It has been a while since we took the leap off the cliff from 5.5.3 to 7.6.4 But, if I remember code tightening got us and we had to change all our HTMLTABLE to HTMTABLE (note the L in HTML had to go away)

This may be the root cause of the nonsensical error.

If you look closely at the syntax HTMTABLE is the correct one.

Sometimes that error is due to data not coming back from the EXEC'd procedure. It could be that the Table can't find the database, the column names have changed, or any other Table issues. There is an easy way to debug anything performed by the EXEC command.

Edit the Focexec and place:
-SET &ECHO=ALL;
at the beginning and a -RUN at the end.

On the form that retrieves the data, place an HTMLTable populated by FOCMSG.MSG. Anything displayed to the screen during the Focexec will be echoed back to the form and you can see any errors.

Thanks for the quick responses! I did not realize that the "HTMLTABLE" was not a valid keyword until you pointed out that the currect keyword would be "HTMTABLE". Changing all instances of HTMLTABLE to HTMTABLE appears to have eliminated any on screen error messages and the maintain called focexecs.
