Upgrading from mssql2000 to mssql2005 itself is not a problem. The database and the tables in it will remain the same, there is no data loss. Also configuring the eda server to go to mssql2005 iso 2000 is not a problem, it just works the same as before. The only hard part is to configure report caster to use mssql 2005. I have tried to get this done and was successful after several attempts at it. There used to be a very good article on the ibi support site that tells you exactly what to do to configure it right. Don't know if it is still there, try searching for it there.

The article is still there. Take a look at: caster config mssql 2005. It helped me to do a successful config. What the article does not mention is that you need a new jdbc driver that is suited for accessing mssql 2005. You can find this jdbc driver through the microsoft site(s).
