ftp is one way. If the file is text, you can cut and paste. There is also an upload function if you are working in the Projects area.

jbond, your question is still a bit too generic.
It could mean a lot of different things to alot of different circumstances?
where is the file?
is it a fex you've written in devstu on local host? and you want to move it to an app on one of your servers?
is it a data file you want to read?
Is it a launch page you want to move to mre?
if you're in devstu, click copy from local host and paste to the server wherever you want it.
Do you have direct access to your server?
or do you have to FTP stuff to your server?
You say your system is NT...that's not server, that's probably your desktop mre, your local host.
