Hi,
I'm seeing 2 different outputs when checking for the field names in a HOLD file.

case 1:
-* &HOLD_FILE (HOLD1) contains only 2 fields FN and FN

?FF &HOLD_FILE

OUTPUT IS :

case 2:

The first instance is the fields in your hold file HOLD1. The second is the fields in the hold file HOLDA which is not your hold file, it is the hold file of the output of the CHECK command. The CHECK command stores potentially more information than the field names. If you do a
TABLE FILE HOLDA
PRINT *
END
you might see what some of this other information is.
