We are currently using Group Views created with View Builder. When a new user logins to the dashboard site, they show up on the Manage Users list and we assign them to the correct default dashboard so they will see their expected reports when going to the Business Intelligence Dashboard link. When we revise existing groups’ dashboards, we find that we have to select every user under Manage Users and reassign them to their current default group view with the Replace User Content with View Content selected.

I understand that it is replacing those users physical worp folders with the new content, but this is a tedious process. Is there a way to automate this?

Our users do not customize their own dashboards. Is there any way to say when I put in a new dashboard change to update all users with the replace content option in the entire system? Selecting each user one by one and then updating them by each group we may have added a new report becomes a bigger issue as we grow our WebFOCUS report use.

I was told this is working as designed by IBI support for 7.7.03 and that 8.0 works differently. It will be awhile before we are ready to move to 8. Has anyone came up with a creative way to refresh the worp folder’s for a user’s default group?

What do you mean by 'revise existing groups dashboards' ? If you are simply adding more reports to a Doamin then these should be automatically picked up assuming you have your block set up as a Tree view. If you are changing the actual look and feel of the view itself then you will need to reassign but if you just tick all the users that need to be converted it will do them all at once. You don't need to reassign one by one.

"just tick all the users that need to be converted" can be quite a tedious process if you have many modified views and many users that need updating, unfortunately this is the only way to do it. I wouldn't get creative because if you make a mistake it will be even more tedious to fix it.
