It sounds like Report Caster is not properly configured to either retrieve/access procedures in your Managed Reporting Environment.
Based on the error, I presume that you are trying to run a procedure created in MRE.
What version of WebFOCUS are you running? Are you trying to set up the schedule using the Web interface or through Dev Studio? Are you trying to create the schedule as a user or administrator?
OK, it definitely sounds like a configuration. Depending on what permissions you have within WebFOCUS you may or may not be able to fix it.
There are a variety of possibilities here:
1. You do not have permission to access the domain you are trying to schedule from.
2. The default MRE admin password is different than what was used to configure Report Caster.
3. (I found this one on the IBI Tech Support Site Knowledge Base):
Symptom:
Task error:Error connecting to the Managed Reporting Repository:
Problem:
Receiving the above error message when scheduling a job
Solution
"The default Admin ID for Managed Reporting (MR) had a password but it was not set in the dserver.ini file. Added the password in this file, deleted the dserver.xmls file and recycled the Distribution server for these changes to take effect."
Oh, one more thing, are you running Servlets or CGI. Both Caster and the MRE/Reporting Server must be configured the same way.
BTW, Report Caster is a great tool. As you learn what it can do for you, you will undoubtedly use it more. I'd also point you to the Report Caster manual located at:
Denver RSE suggestion is right on. (Thanks Denver RSE! )
