[SOLVED]Field in Subtotal, Excel, and SUBFOOT
Here is my current example:

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
     DEALER_COST
     RETAIL_COST
BY BODYTYPE
BY MODEL
ON BODYTYPE SUBTOTAL AS 'TOTAL'
ON MODEL SUBTOTAL AS 'SUBTOTAL'
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM OFF
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K FORMULA
END

BODYTYPE MODEL DEALER_COST RETAIL_COST
CONVERTIBLE V12XKE AUTO 7,427 8,878

SUBTOTAL V12XKE AUTO 7,427 8,878
TOTAL CONVERTIBLE 7,427 8,878

...

Here is what I want

BODYTYPE MODEL DEALER_COST RETAIL_COST
CONVERTIBLE V12XKE AUTO 7,427 8,878

SUBTOTAL CONVERTIBLE V12XKE AUTO 7,427 8,878
TOTAL CONVERTIBLE 7,427 8,878

...

In otherwords what model is this subtotal for. I need this since my data has subtotal items that can be the same across models and we need to see the difference.

Yes I can use SUBFOOT and ST to this. Another problem occurs. The excel spreadsheet shows all of items in the subfoot line as text and they need to be numbers since we are using them in other formulas.

Any ideas on how I get the top by item show inside the bottom by text and still keep excel showing numbers?

What about something like this:

DEFINE FILE CAR
BODYTYPE_MODEL/A100 = BODYTYPE | ' ' | MODEL;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
DEALER_COST
RETAIL_COST
BY BODYTYPE
BY MODEL
BY BODYTYPE_MODEL NOPRINT
ON BODYTYPE SUBTOTAL AS 'TOTAL'
ON BODYTYPE_MODEL SUBTOTAL AS 'SUBTOTAL'
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM OFF
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
-*ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K FORMULA
END
