Bonjour,
Sorry not to give an example out of the File CAR, or to ask a question about How to get a Month out of a Date Format.
OLAP is a way of treating Hierararchies ( Not only one Dimension )
Let's say *Geography : Region State City Stores.
Let's say I've precalculated Agregation Results at several levels.
The Physical Level of agregation on this Axe is indicated in a Field named 'NIVAGR_GEO' which will contain
'4-Store' For Store ,
'2-State' For State , The fields STORE and CITY will contain All Stars
'1-Region' For region , The fields STORE, CITY and STATE will Contain All Stars.
The Agregation Level of City has not been Physically PreCalsulated since There are not so many Stores in a City ( Let's suppose)
Of course All 4 levels of Agregations may be desired by the user Demand for 3-City will be treated by Filtering on '4-store' and Dynamically agregating at the City Level.
In Fact I am completely in line with the Elegant WITHIN approach + a level of Precalculated level I've to Work ( Have to filter on).
This out of Age approach was compatible with quick Response time.
Times they are a changing and even Excel gets over the 6n nnn Max Lines Limit.
But Time Out is, also, a reality.
I Wanted advised ideas and experiences about this classical problem ( How to bring my 90's solutions at the 3rd Millenium level )
