Does anyone have experience with using Microsoft Visual Source Safe with Developer Studio? Are there any caveats? Can you provide a link to documentation?

This really has nothing to do with WebFOCUS, does it? However, it's very easy: Do a GOOGLE Search on it... You'll find This, and This, and about 215k more results here...

I don't know whether you want some integration between FOCUS Developer Studio and Visual Source Safe. About this I cannot say anything. We use both, we develop with Developer Studio, when we are ready we add the fexes and other files to VSS as text-files before they are copied into the production area. In the case of changes we check out (I hope this is the correct english term) in VSS, develop the changes with Developer Studio and check in after it is tested and accepted. Then it is again copied into the production environment.
When you setup Developer Studio there is an option to integrate with VSS if you already have the client installed. I am looking into integrating VSS with Developer Studio in that way.
My real concern is how VSS will work with the configuration of our system. We currently have two report servers that share a common drive where are fex's/masters/etc. are stored. My assumption would be that when I check out a fex from VSS that a copy would be stored on my local machine, I make the changes and then check them back in. In other words, the checked copy of the fex is stored on my machine or on the shared drive that our servers use? Also I've searched through the ib website and couldn't find any sort of documentation/white paper about VSS integration with Developer Studio. That was really my main reason for posting. I would appreciate any and all links you can provide.
Thanks B

I am using VSS and it works well. The information you seek is within VSS documentation. You just have to know where your webfocus files will need to reside). In Webfocus you just have to point to the appropriate VSS directory you want to work in.
