HOLD vs PCHOLD
All,

Can ne1 tell me the difference between a HOLD and a PCHOLD.
what are the advantages and disadvantages of both.

PCHOLD will holds the data back on the client. HOLD holds the data in memory or on disk for future use by another step or focexec. This may not be all these are used for but this is all I know.

EXAMPLE:
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
This returns the output to the client in Excel 2000 format.

ON TABLE HOLD AS TEST
This holds the data in memory for future use like below.
TABLE FILE TEST
PRINT *
END
