Can i use a fixed length file as a data source in Web Focus?

I think you only have to create a master file for it .

Thats exactly what i want to know. How do you create it? There is an option only for delimited files.

Suffix FIX should be used for fixed format files.

Sample data.mas
FILENAME=DATA , SUFFIX=FIX ,$
SEGMENT=SEG01 , SEGTYPE=S1 , $
FIELDNAME=KEY1, ALIAS=E01, USAGE=A10, ACTUAL=A10, $
FIELDNAME=VALUE1, ALIAS=E02, USAGE=D10, ACTUAL=A10, $

If your'e using the File Tool
ie right click (when in master folder) new , data file. The file type you need is Fixed Format
