I am using MS SQL Server 2000 with Developer studio. One of the date filed in Master file is of smalldate defined from SQL Server. I decomposed date filed in the master file into Year and Month with defauld values created by Master file tool (GUI). When I add master file into a report I get following error. "ERROR PARSING MASTER FILE (FOC282) RESULT OF EXPRESSION IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE FORMAT OF THE FIELD: YEAR (FOC101) ERROR IN DEFINE IN MASTER FILE" Your support will be appreciated
Previous issue is resolved just by adding H in the format of year and moth format e.g. HYY. Now I have another question. When I added decomposed year in where/if statement, output also shows duplicated year values. Now I want to output only unique values for example, if database contains more than one "2003" year values in field, I want to display it only one time. Do I have to use any function now. Your suggestions are appreciated.
