If you simply need to know what day of the week today is, try using the system date variable &DATEW. It will give you a number, 1=Monday, 2=Tuesday, etc. If you need to know the business day based on the holiday file, then I image using functions is the way to go.

Production: WF 7.7.05M, Dev Studio, BID, MRE, WebSphere, DB2 / Test: WF 8.1.05M, App Studio, BI Portal, Report Caster, jQuery, HighCharts, Apache Tomcat, MS SQL Server
What I need this for is a report that should be send by ReportCaster only on the First Business Day of the actual month.
I have put this piece of script in the report. I scheduled the report for a sequence of 5 days to be sure it is created on the first business day.
If the scheduler start on the 2 of the month the program also tests if the previous BD is in the same month and then you may assume the report was already created.

If the dates are equal the &INPDATE is a business day.
I had another thread discussing the DATEADD function. I finally found in the documentation (reading very carefully), where it states that when using the week day or business day options if the input date is not a week day or business day, the input date is adjusted to the next week day or business day before adding or subtracting. It also takes into account the holiday file if you are using one.

If you aren't using the Holiday file, I would recommend you try that. Another alternative is to build a calendar file with the first workday of the month in it, but that requires more manual intervention.
