Has anyone had great success in getting the Document Composer (in version 7.6.10 and above) to generate the exact positioning for their final PDF report?

I have 3 small reports that I would like to have co-exist on one PDF page, and after MUCH tinkering I have a reasonable output in Landscape. Now the user requested that the report be broken up and presented in Portrait.

Interestingly, the tool is quite simple to use, but has this documented caveat:

I was just curious to know if anyone has used this tool extensively and had successful results so that we can share our combined experiences with the community and bounce ideas off of each other.
