We have a rather bothersome issue. Most of our reports run to Excel (EXL2K). The first time a report is run from BID for that day, the user has to run it twice to get the output. After that, the report seems to run fine. Any ideas? I know this is similar to a post by nightowl in 2004 but its not quite the same. Yes, we do have Excel 2007. The popup to download or save the file does not even come up the first time the report is run. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you one and all for Focal Point. It is a wealth of knowledge. PaulThis message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have been working another issue with tech support involving running reports from dev studio. No, there are no messages displayed on the screen. At first I thought it could be popup blocker, but it occurs even if I turn popup blocker off.

Hopefully there are no FILEDEFs or creation of FOCUS DB's that the first run performs but which were expected to already be there , if you understand what I mean...

Give me code, or give me retirement. In FOCUS since 1991

So far Francis, the problem seems to be related to Excel only. We are running 7.6.1 webfocus with MS Office 2007. I know, bad combination. One thing I did notice though was this. First time report is run it takes about 10 seconds for popup blocker to show bar at top of screen. This is a normal time for this report. The second time it is run, popup blocker does not show up and the window for open or save comes up very quickly (about 2 seconds). Its almost like the second run is reading from a buffer from the first run. I will run a test today turning on all traces and maybe this will show something. Thank you for your suggestions. Paul
