Spaces in EXCEL format

just stay spaces no matter what you do to them...

For 200 dollars - What will the Set Parameter syntax: SET SHOWBLANKS = ON preserve?

I have given sample code for including space in Excel.

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT COMPUTE TEST/A50 = CAR | ' ' | HEXBYT(13,'A1') | MODEL;
BY COUNTRY 
BY CAR
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
END

I'm concatenating both CAR and MODEL to single column and including space in between them...
