Dev Studio Projects
I created a new local project. I assumed that all Masters in the App Path would be available to procedures in said project. Not so.

I clicked on Project > Properties - Paths and I cannot find a way to add Paths to the Project.
Also, when I click on Help in the Project Properties window, nothing happens.

Help!

Hi Francis,

By design, the Projects area does not use the APP PATH set by the Reporting Server, instead each Project can have its own path. This is valuable for developing and testing standalone applications or while developing applications that you may later want to deploy as self-service web based applications.
By default every Project will use resources you have in the BASEAPP application. BASEAPP is an application that can be used to place common files and it is always referenced regardless of the type of development you are performing (Projects, Data Servers or MR).
Customizing the APP PATH for a Project can be done in two ways:
1. While creating a Project, in step 2 of 2 of the Create Project wizard press the Add… button. This will list all available applications and you select the ones you want added to the Project.
2. Applications can be added/removed after the Project is created by performing a right click on the required project and select Properties from the context menu. From the Project Properties dialog, select the Path tab and click on the folder icon to add new directory to the path. This will open a dialog that lists all available applications that you can add to the projects path.
Note: New files will be created in the location specified by the Default Application Path.

We will look into the help issue.

Dimitri

Dimitri,

I appreciate your comments.

I couldn't find the Add Path function because it seemed unintuitive - a "New" button would make more sense.

Thank you for your response.

Regards,

Francis
