I have a report going to WP Format. I want to be able to send it in an E-mail to the users, who can bring it up and then edit the report...like a document. I'm using Developers Studio 5.2.3 on a Unix Box. This report already runs in Regular Focus, where it is E-mailed...and the users bring it up as a Word Document.
What happens in Webfocus is you pull it up and it loses columns and headings.

Thanks for any thoughts. I'm sure I'm just missing something.

We're on 5.2.4 Dev Studio
If I say ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT WP
and have a FILEDEF to use the extension of .doc
I don't loose my headings and columns when it's opened in Word.
Just curious why you're opening the file in WebFOCUS? Maybe I'm misunderstanding?

I guess I worded that wrong. I was just saying now the report in just Focus on a Unix Box is e-mailed to people and they can pull it up fine. But when I send it thru ReportCaster using WebFocus...is where I have my problem. I will try your Filedef Suggestion.

I tried running my report in ReportCaster (without a FILEDEF) with an ON TABLE HOLD FORMAT WP and it works and keeps the headings and column totals. Make sure in RC, under Tasks, select Ouptut as WP and titles and columns were OK. Unless it's something with UNIX
