On an 82M PDS deployed iWay reporting server on z/OS, that has server_type = ffs in edaserve.cfg, can a procedure in an Application folder be scheduled by right clicking on the procedure and selecting Schedule and E-mail then Manage? Or does that only work on a DataMigrator type server?
I tried scheduling a simple test procedure and it created a new procedure in my app folder with several commented out lines beginning with -*DM that show the schedule options that I chose when I selected Schedule and E-mail > Manage. The final line contains EX . I assume the -*DM lines mean this would only work on an actual DataMigrator server? The schedule never does run my procedure except when I clicked Set and Test Run while on the Manage Schedule and E-Mail for procedure appfolder/myprocedure page where the schedule options are set, like Schedule Status, Schedule Type, etc. The output from my procedure, an EXL2K file, was successfully sent to me via e-mail. So the output destination options I set did work. After setting all of the options and clicking the Set button the procedure never runs according to the schedule settings I set, however. I keep checking the Agents list and nothing ever runs when it should according to the schedule I created.
Right clicking SCHEDULER under Special Services and Listeners and selecting Scheduler Agents does show an agent that was apparently used when I clicked Set and Test Run earlier. The State is DONE, the Status is --, and the Schedule Type is CMASAP. The CMASAP value is also what makes me think this schedule I created won't work on a FFS server, only a DM server. Is that correct? I've been looking through documentation all over the place and can't seem to find an answer to this.
If using Schedule and E-mail with a procedure in an app folder does require a DM server for it to work then why have the option available in a FFS server? It's just confusing. I'm just trying to figure out if it's possible to set up a simple schedule for a procedure via a FFS iWay server web console for a server running on our mainframe. Is there any specific documentation that might answer my question or explain this better? Thanks! This message has been edited. Last edited by: FP Mod Chuck,

In the FFS console under the workspace option. Look under Special Services and Listeners and right mouse click on the schedulere and choose properties. You will see settings that will tell you if it is autostarted etc.
Thank you for using Focal Point!
