I have a database date field in this format. A date displays like this:
2008/12/12 12:25:39

How do I reformat the date portion to display as:
12/12/2008 12:25:39

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Smiler

Tom

You really should buy that famous book......

The solution I would use depends partly of the database you have, but suppose it is a SQL like source I should put this in the master.

FIELDNAME=ORIGINAL,ALIAS=Datefield,USAGE=HYYMDs,ACTUAL=HYYMDs,$
FIELDNAME=DAYPART,ALIAS=Datefield,USAGE=YYMD,ACTUAL=DATE,$

Now you are pointing to the same field in the database.

Else you can use a define with the HPART formula

DEFINE FILE XXX
NEWDATE/YYMD=HDATE(OLDDATE,'YYMD');
MONTH/tM=NEWDATE;
END

BTW did you ever use the SEARCH button??

You could try

FIELDNAME=ORIGINAL,ALIAS=Datefield,USAGE=HYYMDs,ACTUAL=HYYMDs,$
FIELDNAME=DMYYFMT,ALIAS=Datefield,USAGE=HDMYYs,ACTUAL=HYYMDs,$

Or reformat in a define or compute

DMYYsTS/HDMYYs = ORIGINAL ;

Waz...
