When we plot a graph with two BY fields, as shown in the code below
GRAPH FILE CAR SUM BODY.RETAIL_COST BY HIGHEST BODY.RETAIL_COST NOPRINT BY ORIGIN.COUNTRY ON GRAPH SET LOOKGRAPH VBAR2AX ON GRAPH SET GRAPHEDIT SERVER ON GRAPH SET BARNUMB OFF ON GRAPH SET 3D OFF ON GRAPH SET VZERO ON ON GRAPH SET GRID ON END
the X-axis label is displayed as 31500:Italy 17580:England 14123:W Germany..... so on
is it possible to ignore the numeric value from the label? i.e; The X-axis label should display only the country and not the retails cost value.
Please let me know if this is possible.

Yes it is, and similar questions have been covered in other posts.
You will have to resort to coding the API and override the setGroupLabel(..); created by WebFOCUS. Check out the excellent post by JG for the basics. The INCLUDE file that you would need could be generated using -
SET HOLDLIST = PRINTONLY
TABLE FILE CAR
SUM COMPUTE GROUPLABEL/A12 = '"' | COUNTRY || '"';
BY HIGHEST RETAIL_COST NOPRINT
BY COUNTRY NOPRINT
ON TABLE SAVE
END
-RUN
and then use setGroupLabelArray( ..... ); within your API coding.
