[CASE-OPENED]Printing from WebFOCUS
Hi,
I'm wondering how everyone is currently handling the printing of WebFOCUS reports. We have quite a few members of management that still would prefer paper copies of reports to the 'live' versions that we have been building and placing within Portals.

The issue we have is that the styling doesn't come through when we try to directly print from the portal and some of the HTML pages. Toggling the PDF format is one solution, but even that has issues sometimes with the reports not fitting properly to one page.

So I'm curious how everyone else is handling this. Are you maintaining two different copies of certain reports and specifically formatting one of them to print better (column widths, styling elements, etc)? Are you using the Document building tool to mimic the look of a dashboard to print better?

Lastly, is it possible to be able to print the portal pages and have them use the style sheets to actually print how they look in the browser?

Thanks

Just some quick thoughts...

Generally, I would have only one report/fex, and if I needed a part of the report to behave differently depending upon the format selected (AHTML, HTML, PDF,...) I would use Dialog Manager/Amper Variables.

Yep, if I had a request for 'printable' reports I would look at PDF format, as it sounds like you are.

I would also look at the 'Print' menu option, of Active Reports. When I've checked this out, the 'Print' option has made available to me a nice 'printable' version of the report.
