We just did an upgrade and have lost the ability to deploy our projects. Does anyone out there know how to access this in App Studio?
I have checked the help files and Focal Point but haven't found anything helpful yet.

I usually create a shell program and copy and paste the code. There are differences in the environments. For instance, don't forget to use -MRNOEDIT where needed.

So, it really wasn't figured out correctly. We still have Dev Studio as well as App Studio. We just do the deploy in DS. I still don't know how to do this in AS.

In Dev Studio when developing within a project we are able to Deploy our fexes and htm's to production. This is not available in App Studio, that we can see.

Hi MAdams1,
Can you provide a bit more explanation of what your are trying to do so that we can find a possible answer to your question?
Thank you for participating in the Focal Point Forum.

Project Deployment was deprecated in WF 8 App Studio
Reason: This feature is not widely used in Developer Studio.
Notes: Developing directly within a WebFOCUS Environment Data Server application folder and Web Components folders, and using separate WebFOCUS Client configurations for development, test to production application deployment process is recommended.

I feel the need to express my dissatisfaction with IBI deprecating a function used by anyone. I don't care that it wasn't 'widely used' it was being used. Now we have to stop developing in projects and use the content folders with fully qualified names and go back and touch hundreds of fexes with INCLUDES to add these file names in order to 'deploy' to production. Unless someone has a better idea that works for them? I am not happy right now!

I haven't used Projects in a long time, but I agree with you. This and several other features have been deprecated.
I suggest you use Developer Studio until the bitter end. They most likely won't remove Projects from Developer Studio until it meets its sunset, and I believe you can live without the App Studio new features for now.

Yes, I have both DS and AS installed on 8. We were told at summit that DS will no longer be supported in the 8.2 upgrade so I was told to start using AS and develop in Content....would not have been necessary if they had just included the project deployment in AS...Ugh! I really do like change.....just not this one..ha ha.

UltraEdit has the ability to find/replace within files. If all of your -INCLUDES are in the same folder it shouldn't be too painful to do the conversion. You might not have to actually open and type the fully qualified path in each report.
Good Luck!
