[SHARING] Revisiting my Mainframe past #2: Advantages of XFOCUS over FOCUS databases
Are there advantages to XFOCUS over FOCUS databases other than max size and max number of segments? Are they more efficient? I tried looking for information but haven't yet found anything of interest.

Thanks,

Google came to the rescue.

This is Noreen Redden's excellent article: XFOCUS Databases.

And here's another article: The XFOCUS Database: Bigger IS Better.

Google is a lot better at finding stuff on the IB website than IB's search facilities.

There are so many benefits.

Long field indexed names.
Larger segment sizes.

There all good, except for licencing.
