I just tried to use EDAMAIL and I'm getting the following error. FYI - This is the first time I've tried this at my current client location. We are using 8.201M.
EDAMAIL: Communication node is not found. (ICM18822) Communication Error
What needs to be done to get this to work?

It's a part of the Reporting Server Console under Workspace SET. You'll have to set up e-mail SMTP Server. Your Admin will have to have filled out things like SMTP_HOST, PORT et cetera. Without that I don't think you can use edamail.

I got EDAMAIL working and it works fine for sending a file as an inline message in the body of the email or as an attachment. Is there a way to send a file as an attachment but also put information in the body of the email.
Would be very nice to be able to do both.
I know you can use ReportCaster but I have a requirement where EDAMAIL within a fex would be best.
Thanks

Does anyone have an example using the CAR file where you send an email via EDAMAIL with an attached file and additional information in the body of the email?

I still use EDAMAIL to communicate that a file or files have been created, but I either use ReportCaster to distribute the report(s) or use COPY commands to write the files to locations on our network.
