Please refer to WebFocus documentation "Creating Reports with Graphical Tools Version 7 Release 1.3" or whatever version you use. It has answers to all of the questions you asked here. In general Report Painter is used to create complex styled reports whereas the Report Assistant is used to create simple queries and reports.

Thanks. What I could follow after reading Creating Reports with Graphical Tools Version 7 is - Report Assistant does not offer the following
1. Drill Down and Multi Drill down 2. Features for Financial Reporting 3. Create Active HTML reports 4. Limited options of saving report 5. Limited Style Sheet options.
