As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.

We have a newly created dashboard and I can already see the difficulty in trying to get users to remember to 'logoff' when they're done.
Frankly, I forget myself because it's one of the few places where it actually matters. Most sites you can just close the browser and it takes care of itself.
Is there some method that we can use to automatically log the user off? Specifically when they close the browser or navigate to another site or something? I don't want to simply shorten the timeout either.
NY Technical Support has a technique that may help. It Does Not log you off, but when you try to log back in it will automaticly cancel your old session and continue with the log in. Please Open a case with NY.
