Am I mad or should I expect the column titles to wrap like the column data wraps?
TABLE FILE CAR
BY WARRANTY AS 'This is a test This is a test'
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM OFF
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
SQUEEZE=ON, $
TYPE=REPORT, GRID=OFF, FONT='ARIAL', SIZE=9, $
TYPE=TITLE, STYLE=BOLD, $
TYPE=REPORT, COLUMN=N1, WRAP=1.0, $
ENDSTYLE
END
The column title truncates.
I know I can add commas to the column title but the commas generate an ugly column title in Excel.

Due to the fact that TITLEs offer the ability to force a linebreak using the commas, I can see why this happens. Here's a solution using SUBHEAD.
TABLE FILE CAR PRINT WARRANTY NOPRINT COMPUTE WARTITLE/A75='This is a test This is a test'; NOPRINT BY WARRANTY AS 'This is a test This is a test' ON WARRANTY SUBHEAD "<WARTITLE" ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM OFF ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF ON TABLE SET STYLE * SQUEEZE=ON, $ TYPE=REPORT, GRID=OFF, FONT='ARIAL', SIZE=9, $ TYPE=TITLE, STYLE=BOLD, $ TYPE=REPORT, COLUMN=N1, WRAP=1.0, $ TYPE=SUBHEAD, LINE=1, OBJECT=FIELD, ITEM=1, WRAP=1.000, COLOR=BLUE, STYLE=BOLD,$ ENDSTYLE END
Thanks!
Mickey

I keep trying to find ways to code my programs so that they can be run in HTML, PDF and Excel formats with the least amount of formatting or styling differences.
If I have commas in the column titles, the columns titles wrap as expected in all formats, but the column-title cell in Excel is a little ugly containing new-line hidden characters.
If I have spaces in the column titles and have WRAP styling to control the width, the column titles wrap as expected in HTML and Excel, but get truncated in PDF.
If I have commas in the column titles, the columns titles justify as expected (left for alpha, right for numeric) in HTML and Excel formats, the column titles justify left in PDF, unless you add styling to make them justify right.
I just wish things were more consistent than they are.
Cheers,
Francis
