Suppressing the value (of the BY field)in the sub total row
While showing a subtotal using:
BY FIELD1 NOPRINT SUBTOTAL AS 'Total' the subtotal gets displayed indicated by 'Total ' where is the value of the sort by field for which we need are showing the sub total. Now how do we suppress the value that is being shown ? should not be shown in the subtotal label.

Ah finally, after three attempts we get the real question! Smiler

The answer is that you can't (not to my knowledge anyway) without resorting to using FML and using cell recalculation and not subtotal, unless you use style sheets to change the colour of the subtotal to the same as the background colour.

Check out the manuals on FML.

Then again, you could use SUBFOOT but then you would have to have HEADALIGN=BODY to align the ST.fieldnames in the SUBFOOT etc.
