The following code will goto the 'END_CM_LOOP' label, because a space and zero is treated equally:
-*
-SET &ECHO = 'ALL';
-SET &ELEMNT = '0';
-*
-IF &ELEMNT EQ ' ' GOTO END_CM_LOOP;
-*-IF ASIS(&ELEMNT) EQ ' ' GOTO END_CM_LOOP;
-*
-TYPE DOING SOMETHING HERE.
-EXIT
-*
-END_CM_LOOP
-TYPE YOU ARE NOW OUTSIDE/PAST THE LOOP.
-EXIT
I know the fix would be to use the ASIS function, on the variable I am comparing.
However, this type of code is located in several places in our folder.
Is there an environmental setting, that will tell WebFOCUS to distinguish between a space and zero, that I can set?This message has been edited. Last edited by: David Briars,

I just heard back from IB, on a case I opened on this question, and they stated that the ASIS, on an individual basis, is the only way to do the proper comparison.
