COMPUTE WS_MIDNIGHT_START/HYYMDS=HMIDNT(WS_DATESHIFT, 8, WS_MIDNIGHT_START);
COMPUTE WS_MIDNIGHT_FIN1/HYYMDS=HADD(WS_MIDNIGHT_START, 'HOUR', 7, 8, WS_MIDNIGHT_START);
COMPUTE WS_MIDNIGHT_FINISH/HYYMDS=HADD(WS_MIDNIGHT_FIN1, 'MINUTE', 59, 8, WS_MIDNIGHT_FIN1);
COMPUTE WS_MIDNIGHT_SHIFT_TYPE/A10=IF WS_DATESHIFT GE WS_MIDNIGHT_START AND WS_DATESHIFT LE WS_MIDNIGHT_FINISH THEN 'Y' ELSE 'N';

This is the technique I used seems to work for me..
