Interactive Map of U.S. using Visual Discovery
I am looking to create a map of the U.S. where each state is clickable (this will require a state name with with a line for the North East states)

we are on release 7.1.3 so I don't believe I can use WebFocus for Google maps

At this point I am just looking for a starting point...any help with finding documentation or examples would be great

Thanks!

I don't know if this will help you but when you install Visual Discovery (on my machine it is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ADVIZOR Components), there is a Maps subdirectory with US maps on them. One of them is used in the tutorial that comes with the VisDis product from IBI. Check out the manual.

If you want to implement this without Google map, use any one of the following maps sites.

http://www.cdc.noaa.gov/USclimate/states.fast.html

http://www.endangeredspecie.com/map.htm

You need to get the View Source and arrange the HREFs with your report params to execute your report. Remember to have the map image stored on your server.

There are many paid maps availble where you can customize the links.

Any idea other than this?

Thiru,

Thanks for the response, I am one step closer...

However you will have to forgive my ignorence when it comes to HTML.
I have copied the View Source to my server as text (Notepad) & I have saved the map image on my server as a Bmp.

What I don't understand is how to "arrange the HREFs with your report params" or how the view source and bmp are connected.

Any clues, tips or even a big picture understanding of what I need to do next would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
