Problem In Define File

Hi All

I am facing an strange problem with define.

when i create a define field and store a value of amper variable.
this does not show same data as in amper variable. please see below red
highlighted is bad data

UW 100009090 UWÿÿ |_Ryan
orginal data is UW 100009090 UW |_Ryan

Piscian,

If you were to look at the data in a hex viewer the two ÿÿ characters should show as x'FFFF'. Therefore I think that all you are seeing is the result of a different character set being used?
