Library problems
In an attempt to refrain from filling peoples email with 1MB reports, I want to send the to the library and email just the link. I created an access list and that works fine. My issue is when I receive the email it requires me to select the program to open the file. I always save them as PDF's. But, no one else on my access list can retrieve the report. They all have security to the library. When they go directly to the library, they do not even see the domain inwhich the report is held, even though they have permissions to that domain? We are on 5.2.3.
Is this a security or setting issue? I am only a Dev Studio user, I do not have total administrative rights.

Thanks

Amy,

I am assuming that you have the following products. WebFOCUS, UAS/MRE, Report Caster, Report Library.

If the users cannot see the domain and the report is either public or there is an access list to it and there id is in the access list. They should be able to see the reports.

Question for you do they see any domains at all in the library or is this the first time you are using library?

We seem to have a similar issue on 5.3.3. It seems like if a user logs into MRE first and then clicks the report library icon, they can get their reports, and all the Library functionality seems to work ok after that.

If they have never been to MRE before, they can't access Report Library directly, and won't even receive emails of ReportCaster bursted links to their library output, even though they are set up correctly in UAS.

Seems like a tough workaround to force people to go to MRE, but maybe someone knows a solution.

I would look into using the Dashboard. It is a way to allow users to customize there views and also get to Library.

Yeah, that seems to be the way to go, even if library were the only content to begin with. I'm sure I can find a couple of other things to give them, though.
