I'm wondering if anyone is getting this issue with FORMAT EXCEL.

My File type setting is changed for XLS and XHT to opens up in Excel instead of IE browser:

Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>File Types tab and then scroll down to the XLS/XHT> Turn OFF "Browse in same window"

For example when I do a simple query
TABLE FILE BLAH
PRINT *
WHERE RECORDLIMIT EQ 30000
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXCEL
END

When the File Download screen pops up
Name: WFServlet.xls
Type: Microsoft Excel Worksheet
From: webfocus servername
"Open" "Save" "Cancel"

If you leave it on that screen for longer then 1min before clicking "Save" to your desktop it doesn't load the 30000record into EXCEL but only a few 100records.

Usually 30000 records in excel is about 15mb but the file size i'm saving is about 240kb.

Strange.

Anyone getting this issue or I'm just special.

I wonder if there are limitations or issues with FORMAT EXCEL, as opposed to EXL2K, etc.

what is the data source ?

Is it from a join, or a multi-segment master file ?

Print * can cause less records to be shown.

Data source is focus db. No joins or multi seg in the query.

Ok I tried it with FORMAT EXL2K and still getting the issue when I click Save.

What is your setting for _TempFileTimeout in WebFocus Client? Do you have the same problem with PDF (if that is set up as Mime redirected too)?

Yes that is a good point.

Do you have the same issue with other output formats.

Can you post your code, and master files ?
