Hi All, Is there any method to pass a textarea value to an FEX without losing its formating (like newlines , tabs etc) from an HTM page ? When I tried with textarea, the variable values were not getting passed to the FEX , so I created a text filed (act as a hidden one) by copying the textarea values into the text box and passed . It will be passed but without any formating.I need the formats also to be passed where I need to insert this into a Oracle table's LONG column in the FEX.
Plese share if some body have a solution for this?
Version 7.6.11 Webfocus installed in AIX 5.3, desktop PC: Windows-XP based Output: Excel, HTML, PDF
You would need to "escape" the contents of the text area and then convert the escaped values back to the char in the fex. You can achieve this in JavaScript on the HTML side of things - search google for "javascript escape". Then use STRREP in your fex to get the chars that you need.
