Hi guys,

I hope someone can help me out with this. I have two variables &YEAR and &MONTH in input, and I want to merge them into a unique &DATETIME variable.
e.g.
&YEAR = 2012
&MONHT = 04
I want &DATETIME = '2012/04/01 00:00:00'

I tried the code below but it did not work.
I got: 3Q as output.

Can you help me?
Thanks so much, much appreciate.
D.

-SET &ECHO=ALL;

-DEFAULT &YEAR ='2012'
-DEFAULT &MONTH = '04'

-SET &DATETIME_ALPHA  =  '&YEAR.EVAL' | '&MONTH.EVAL' |'010000' ;
-SET &DATETIME = HINPUT(12,'&DATETIME_ALPHA.EVAL',8,'HYYMDS');

-TYPE DATETIME = &DATETIME

Result:

 -DEFAULT &YEAR ='2012'
 -DEFAULT &MONTH = '04'
 -SET &DATETIME_ALPHA  =  '2012' | '04' |'010000' ;
 -SET &DATETIME = HINPUT(12,'201204010000',8,'HYYMDS');
 -TYPE DATETIME = 3Q
 DATETIME = 3Q

Try this

take your date and make it i8yymd , from which you can make it a date-time format, then you can format it very nicely, no comma.
DEFINE FILE whatever
NEWTIME/HYYMDIA=DT(&YYMD 12:00AM);
NICEDAY/HMtD = NEWTIME;

HINPUT does not return a formatted datetime string, it is an internal format.

The result you see is that internal format.

If you need a formatted output in a DM variable, then wrap the HINPUT with HCNVRT.
