EXCEL page setup
Can a style sheet in WebFOCUS control any of the "Page Setup" commands in Excel?
I want just to put page LANDSCAPE.

Not directly. That is because when the STYLESHEET sets LANDSCAPE, it is setting a PRINTER CODE, which is not respected by EXCEL. I have never tried this, but I think that the TEMPLATE option would work, if you imported the spreadsheet into a TEMPLATE with orientation set to LANDSCAPE. Here is some of the documentation.
The EXCEL Template feature is documented as part of the Developer Studio
product. You can review the details documented at:

Chapter 2. Developer Studio Enhancements
Using EXCEL Templates in the Report Painter

You can find a variety of EXCEL Templates on Microsoft's web site. These
can be adjusted to include another worksheet and it is this worksheet
that WebFOCUS will replace with report data. It is up to the developer
to adjust the EXCEL file to be used as a template so that the stylized
worksheet pulls the data in from the WebFOCUS worksheet with the information
WebFOCUS wrote to it. You will need to then save this xls file as a single
web archive file (.mht file) and it is this file that is used as the EXCEL
template in the FORMAT EXL2K TEMPLATE command. The file should be located
in the APP PATH or EDAPATH.

Although the feature is documented as part of the WebFOCUS Developer Studio
product, it should be clear that you can use this feature via the WebFOCUS
language:

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K TEMPLATE 'template_name' SHEETNUMBER number

where the template_name is the EXCEL template (.mht file) to be used and
where number is the worksheet number that WebFOCUS will write the
report information to when executed.

Could you please post more details or samples related to Excel. I did everything as documented.
Created Excel file, formatted first page.
Loaded everything to the server.
When I get my report loaded to the excel template no original formatting is preserved.

Thanks

Sander,
What release of WF are you running on?

I think this is one of the newer features.

Hi Sander,

Has this issue been resolved on your site?

My question here may be a bit trivia, but, can you please let us know what version of Excel are you using? According to the online document, you must have Excel 2002 or higher to use this new feature.

Hope this helps. Big Grin

Cheers,

Kerry
