Dan KennyIs anyone having stability problems with Dev Studio 7.6.1?
I've rolled our the Developer Studio 7.6.1 to a number of people at our installation, and we are getting a lot more "crashes" than we've experienced with 7.1.6.
Specifically, all of a sudden, Dev Studio just *poof* dies, completely unloads, no stack trace, no Blue Screen Of Death, nothing.
I know that this problem signature is a known issue throughout the releases, but this is really happening with more frequency with 7.6.1. Have other customer sites that are using 7.6.1 Dev Studio experiencing similar issues?
In our installation, we are committed to upgrading from 7.1 -> 7.6.1, but this is quite bothersome. I'm hoping for better stability in 7.6.2, whose release I understand is imminent (it's already the 3rd week of June). But it would be nice to share experiences with others using 7.6.1 to try to narrow this problem down a bit. I searched Focal Point and Tech Support website, and there is nothing about crashes. I sure hope this is not something we all are "taking in stride" as part of the idiosyncracies of Dev Studio......it's creating support headaches in our installation.

mgrackinWhat Operating System and version do you have DevStudio installed on? How much memory do you have in the machine on which it is crashing?

PrarieWe are upgrading this weekend to 7.6.1 and been testing for several weeks...we have not experienced that problem. Something isn't right somewhere.

Dan KennyWe're running Dev Studio on XP SP2. I've gotten the silent crash on machines that have 1024 Mb of memory and ones with 512 Mb of memory.
I've had it with MR Developer and full Dev Studio.
The MR Developer on 512Mb crashed 5 times today.
It crashed twice on me today for full Dev Studio, 1024 Mb RAM.
Admittedly, we are authenticating to both 7.6.1 server and 7.1.6 server. I'm guessing the 7.1.6 server could be producing the instability on the 7.6.1 client?

PrarieSounds like time to open a case with IBI...if you haven't already. They had to end up helping us at first.

PrarieWill do. The 7.6 release seems a lot more stable then 7.1 was...we had a lot of grief with that one...Testing has gone well.

RickWI've also had some crashes that I have not been able to replicate. The things I'm testing aren't even using any of the GUI builder components (Report Painter, Graph Assistant, etc).
We're using through Citrix so we have an additional layer of possible crash sources. From what we're told, 7.6.2 will be certified so that *should* hopefully provide more stability.

LushengI have had that kind crashes too when I tried to deploy our applications, then "Not Responding", and crashed in 7.61.
