Just to throw a feeler out there - even though most of you are at Tech Summit this week - We are experiencing significant difficulties installing WF 7.6.9 Client w/ Caster on an IBM P-series box (Linux). I was wondering if there are any other customers out there who use a P-series and Linux and if they had or have any issues with installing/configuring/running the WF components on that platform. Input appreciated--This message has been edited. Last edited by: Kerry,

Just a quick friendly suggestion and FYI: for any installation and configuration problems, please contact Information Builders' Customer Support Services and open a case for assistance.
Cheers,
Kerry

Thanks for the response. I do have cases open. It just seems that the the most basic steps of the install are failing so I wanted to find out if we're the only company in the the entire IBI client base that uses this platform or if there are others and if so, if they are experiencing the same difficulties or if we are a problem child. (Which is not much of a stretch.)

Darin

Darin, As you are well aware of you have ventured away from the standard Windows based install. Over one year ago I evaluated moving our WFS off of Windows to Linux which would better suit our server infrastructure. After identifying that the majority of the client base is the standard Windows we decided that we would be better fit to stay. Sorry I can not help but I do understand your pains. Good luck.
I've installed the reporting server, client and reportcaster on a 64 bit Linux Redhat Enterprise server without any problems. The only issue I had was that the client needed 32 bit Java, after installing this all was OK.
Frans - was this on an IBM P-series box or on a Intel-based box?

Darin
