I recently installed Windows 7 on my PC (replaced XP). Now in Dev Studio when I run a report with Excel output (PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K), instead of opening the Excel report in a browser window, the report opens in Excel. Has anyone else experienced this and if so, were you able to get the Win XP behavior back ?

Ted, you have to be the first person I have come across the want Excel output to open in the browser instead of Excel. But to answer your question, in XP the setting was controlled by telling windows the default program to use for a given file type. I would think there is something similar in W7.

So far I have not found anything in Win7. This is what we did to get it to work in XP: 1. In Windows Explorer, click "Folder Options..." under the "Tools" menu 2. Click the "File Types" tab 3. Select "XLS" extension (Microsoft Excel Worksheet) 4. Click the "Advanced" button 5. Make sure "Browse in same window" is checked
