I am attempting to retrieve data from a table that includes assigned rates for different vendors we do business with. The rates are changed from time to time and are assigned a date when the rates are put in place. How would I pull the last rate assigned using the date the rate was assigned without getting all of the rates back that have ever been assigned for the specific vendor? Would I use the last function for this? Thanks!

Something like this, HIGHEST 1 will get you one rate based on the most recent date:

TABLE FILE VENDOR_RATES
PRINT
RATE
BY VENDOR
BY HIGHEST 1 DATE
ON TABLE HOLD AS H001
END
