I have a fex program in managed reporting that creates a pivot excel (with command ON TABLE HOLD AS YTD_PIVOT FORMAT EXL2K PIVOT) and opens an excel spreadsheet in DOS command (with -DOS [path file name].xls) with macro that formats styling and row/column presentation (ie. change rows to column) of the newly created pivot report.
This works when I run it in DEV Studio, but when I copy it to the managed reporting server and run it, it hangs. The server itself does not have excel installed in it, which is most likely the problem. Is there a way to configure/change without having excel installed on the managed reporting server?
Thanks.

The answer to the first question is No. If you were using a dos command to open an xls file that invokes excel through file associations. If excel is not installed on the WF server, that will not work. However, you may want to look at using an excel template which I think would be able to accomplish the same thing. I've not used them much, but I know they work (but not in 4.3.6) and are fully documented. Also many hits when using forum Search.
