Hi, I have some supplier names that showing up as strange characters.
eg: SQL TABLE --> MASTER FILE AMP’ED --> AMP’ED
I tried DEFINE SUPPLIER_NAME_CLEAN/A100V = CTRAN(100, SUPPLIER_NAME, BYTVAL('’','I6') , 32,'A100');
but it only converts the first character to "space" i.e. AMP €™ED
Not sure how to deal with this situation. the reason why I want to convert it into space so that we dont have issues when filtering reports based on "Supplier_Name"

If you want to convert a string to a single space use STRREP not CTRAN.
However, I would be checking why you're getting passed that string.

I tried STRREP and took a look at the SQL TRACE and below is the message I see.
(FOC2567) FUNCTION STRREP CANNOT BE CONVERTED TO SQL
