I have created an ODBC Adapter to an MS SQL Server Database. I have verified that the userid and password are correct.
When I go to create Synonym with both the "tables" and "views" checkboxes checked, I only get a subset of tables/views to which I have "select" access.
Example, when I connect directly to that database via odbc on my pc with the same userid and password I have select access to over 100 more tables than those that appear on the list from which to choose on the metadata screen.
I have the system admin of that datasource looking into any differences on the two tables.
Any suggestions?

Are all your tables actually in the same MSSQL database.
Two access tables from multiple databases you must create an ODBC entry in the ODBC admin tool for each of them. e.g. Northwind and pubs and set up a WebFocus adapter entry for each.
With regard using the MSSQL adapter. This will allow you to see all databases and associated tables/views for a particular MSSQL server. HOWEVER as with most IB adapters it is not free and must be licensed.
If you have it available using the native adapter is far superior to using ODBC.
This issue has been resolved on George's site ... the issue was nothing to do with webfocus but rather a miss-communication between the DBA and the person configuring the ODBC adapter on the OS level.
The DBA never told us the "default database" needed for our connection.
It should be noted that even though the security for that userid had access to the tables the id could not see those tables until that database was selected as the default database. It would have been thought that the id would have seen the tables regardless but with some prefix like schemaname.tablename.
Thanks a lot for sharing, George.
Cheers,
Kerry
